Psalm 146: 5-10
Waiting with Praise
Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord their God,
who made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them;
who keeps faith forever;
who executes justice for the oppressed;
who gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets the prisoners free;
the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord watches over the strangers;
he upholds the orphan and the widow,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
The Lord will reign forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.
Praise the Lord!
These Psalm words are full of praise for our God for all she has done, is doing, and will do. Advent for me is a time of expectant faith, confident in God. I am confident in God!
Please join me in writing a Psalm, praising God and giving hope during this anticipatory time. Here is mine:
Praise the Lord!
For your merciful grace you have granted me when I mess up.
Praise the Lord!
For the healing, centering ground you created where I feel both your presence and my presence on this earth.
Praise the Lord!
For the mystery filled moments where I feel you deep within me.
Praise the Lord!
For my GCPC Church Family, where we devote ourselves to creating a just and equitable world.
Praise the Lord!
For teaching me to trust myself in the calm but also in the chaos of my life.
Praise the Lord!
For my family and friends who are filled with your loving presence they do not keep to themselves.
Praise the Lord!
For your beautiful creation where I can breathe in your peace.
Praise the Lord!
For the leaves gliding gracefully from the trees knowing life will return in not too long a distance.
Praise the Lord!
For food and shelter, and knowing to share abundantly.
Praise the Lord!
For the waiting for the birth of Jesus Christ who teaches me to forgive, and fills me with hope, peace, love, and joy.
Praise the Lord!
Amen.
