Dear Grace Covenant Community,

Surely you have felt what we feel this fall—the tension in our muscles and change in our breath and heartbeats when we look at the calendar, when we see and feel the rain, when our bodies tell us loud and clear that it has been one year since everything we knew washed out from under us.

We have been experiencing apocalypse together. What we did not know, we know now. What we knew and did not say, we now say in direct words and clear voices. What we said and did not act on, we are now doing with our bodies. Our individual lives, and our shared life, have changed dramatically. It can often leave us wondering…

Who are we now?

We are rent support, distribution of food and supplies, and a place to find connection and community. We have given over $6.5 million to help people stay housed, to have a safe place in the midst of apocalypse. We’ve distributed 100s of meals at Asheville Terrace in partnership with Equal Plates. We have shared food and supplies with 1000s of people since the storm hit.

We are worship. We gather every week and remind each other that we are in this together, never alone and always loved. We gather to practice moral courage, abundant compassion, theological curiosity, and beloved community.

We are YTL, the Community Garden, 12 step meetings, ministry partner gatherings and all the other groups who make our building sing with life on the weekdays.

We are dedicated staff, food and formation on Wednesday Nights, Deacon visits, Session vision and leadership, children setting the Communion table, music that builds community, and all the other supports that existed before the storm and remain strong.

We are a nimble, fluid, and thriving community of faith with a mindset of abundance. Out of that abundance, let’s wonder together what it looks like for you to share your financial resources with the GCPC community by making a 2026 pledge.

What is becoming more clear to you about how you can invest your energy and resources in what we are building together?

The Stew Crew this year invites you to “Envision the Possibilities” for what can be unveiled when we all do our part. It’s easy to pledge. You can go to our 2026 pledge campaign page or email Brett Pinkston, our Stewardship and Financial Administrator.

If you have any questions, you can always reach out to anyone on the Stew Crew and we can envision the possibilities together!

With great love,
