John 3:1-17

“Why is it so hard to let Jesus love us enough to disrupt us? Why do we think we have so much to lose in this encounter?  What is so precious that we would choose it over what Jesus wants to bring into our lives?

Revolutionary love!

Jesus is the embodiment of revolutionary love.  Divine love embodied in a vulnerable, resilient, broken, beautiful, engaged, weathered, determined, grief-stricken, passionate body.

Jesus didn’t have to stop and think about what to say–he saw people in a penetrating way–he saw their hearts, their demons, their fears, the small little wounded animal inside of them. And He sees all those things in you and in me, and in the life we’re trying to build together.

Jesus was a master of the unassisted triple play–he could receive the challenge, find the root cause and touch a person’s heart all in one moment of encounter.”
